The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during the transaxle case oil seal and front dirve shaft oil seal RH removal/installation are shown below.

HINT:
When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the auxiliary battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

1. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET

3. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL
(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the transaxle case oil seal from the front transaxle case. NOTICE: Do not damage the front transaxle case. |

4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH
(a) Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from front differential case. SST: 09308-00010 NOTICE: Do not damage the front differential case. | |
5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH
(a) Coat the lip of a new front drive shaft oil seal RH with MP grease.
(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the front drive shaft oil seal RH to the front differential case. SST: 09950-60011 09951-00410 SST: 09950-70010 09951-07200 Standard depth: 23.9 to 24.9 mm (0.941 to 0.980 in.) NOTICE: Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal RH lip. |

6. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL
(a) Coat the lip of a new transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.
(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the transaxle case oil seal to the front transaxle case. SST: 09649-17010 SST: 09950-70010 09951-07200 Standard depth: 5.0 to 6.0 mm (0.197 to 0.236 in.) NOTICE: Do not damage the transaxle case oil seal lip. |

The front and side supplemental restraint systems (SRS) include different types of air bags. Please verify the different types of air bags which are equipped on your vehicle by locating the “SRS AIRBAG” location indicators. These indicators are visible in the area where the air bags are installed.
The air bags are installed in the following locations:
The steering wheel hub (driver air bag) The front passenger dashboard (front passenger air bag) The outboard sides of the front seatbacks (side air bags) The front and rear window pillars, and the roof edge along both sides (curtain air bags)
