HINT:
When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the auxiliary battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

4. DISCONNECT NO. 6 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
(a) Disconnect the No. 6 water by-pass hose from the oil cooler hose. | |
5. DISCONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
(a) Disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the oil cooler hose. | |
6. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and oil cooler assembly from the oil pan sub-assembly. | |
(b) Remove the 2 o-rings. | |
7. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER
(a) Disconnect the claw as shown in the illustration to remove the flywheel housing side cover. | |
8. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the 2 starter assembly connectors. | |
(b) Open the terminal cap.
(c) Disengage the clamp to separate the engine wire. | |
(d) Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire from terminal 30.
(e) Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly from the cylinder block sub-assembly. | |
(f) Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the starter assembly. | |
The fuel gauge shows approximately how much fuel is remaining in the tank when the ignition is switched ON. We recommend keeping the tank over 1/4 full.
