Toyota Yaris: Rear Seat Assembly / Reassembly
REASSEMBLY
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER
NOTICE:
When installing a bench type rear seat cushion cover, refer to Precaution in order to prevent wrinkles from forming.

(a) Engage the claws to install the bench type rear seat cushion cover to the rear seat cushion pad sub-assembly.
(b) Engage the hooks and hook and loop fasteners.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the bench type rear seat cushion cover.
2. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK ASSEMBLY LH
| (a) Install the rear seatback lock assembly LH with the 2 bolts. Torque: 30 N·m {306 kgf·cm, 22 ft·lbf} |

3. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER LH
NOTICE:
When installing a separate type rear seatback cover, refer to Precaution in order to prevent wrinkles from forming.

| (a) Engage the claws to install the separate type rear seatback cover LH to the separate type rear seatback pad LH. NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the separate type rear seatback cover. |

4. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD LH
| (a) Install the separate type rear seatback cover with pad LH to the rear seatback frame sub-assembly LH. |

5. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
| (a) Engage the claws to install the 2 rear seat headrest supports. |
|
6. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
| (a) Engage the guides and claws to install the rear seatback board sub-assembly LH. |
|
| (b) Close the fasteners. |
|
(c) Engage the hook.
7. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK UPPER BEZEL
| (a) Engage the hooks to the separate type rear seatback cover LH. |
|
| (b) Engage the claws to install a new rear seatback lock upper bezel. |
|
8. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
| (a) Install the rear seat headrest assembly. |
|
9. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK ASSEMBLY RH
| (a) Install the rear seatback lock assembly RH with the 2 bolts. Torque: 30 N·m {306 kgf·cm, 22 ft·lbf} |

10. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER RH
NOTICE:

11. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD RH
| (a) Install the separate type rear seatback cover with pad RH to the rear seatback frame sub-assembly RH. |

12. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
| (a) Engage the claws to install the 2 rear seat headrest supports. |
|
13. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
| (a) Engage the guides and claws to install the rear seatback board sub-assembly RH. |
|
| (b) Close the fasteners. |
|
(c) Engage the hook.
14. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK UPPER BEZEL
| (a) Engage the hooks to the separate type rear seatback cover RH. |
|
| (b) Engage the claws to install a new rear seatback lock upper bezel. |
|
15. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
| (a) Install the rear seat headrest assembly. |

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Precautions
The front and side supplemental restraint systems (SRS) include different types of air bags. Please verify the different types of air bags which are equipped on your vehicle by locating the “SRS AIRBAG” location indicators. These indicators are visible in the area where the air bags are installed.
The air bags are installed in the following locations:
The steering wheel hub (driver air bag) The front passenger dashboard (front passenger air bag) The outboard sides of the front seatbacks (side air bags) The front and rear window pillars, and the roof edge along both sides (curtain air bags)
