1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the temperature sensor connector.

(b) Using SST, remove the temperature sensor and gasket from the manual transaxle assembly.

SST: 09729-00220

Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

0.9 to 30 kΩ

If the result is not as specified, replace the temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Using SST, install a new gasket and the temperature sensor to the manual transaxle assembly.

SST: 09729-00220

Torque:

Specified Tightening Torque :

39.2 N·m {400 kgf·cm, 29 ft·lbf}

HINT:

  • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

  • When using SST (fulcrum length of 200 mm (7.87 in.))) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.09 in.))): 18.6 N*m (190 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

(b) Connect the temperature sensor connector.
