INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
(a) Visually check the oil cooler assembly for cracks or damage.
If cracks or damage are found, replace the oil cooler assembly.

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

3. DRAIN ENGINE OIL

4. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the oil cooler assembly. |

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and oil cooler assembly from the oil filter bracket sub-assembly. |

(c) Remove the 3 oil cooler gaskets from the oil cooler assembly. |

Installation
INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install 3 new oil cooler gaskets to the oil cooler assembly.
(b) Install the oil cooler assembly to the oil filter bracket sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque:
21 N·m {214 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf}
(c) Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the oil cooler assembly, and slide the clip to secure them.
2. ADD ENGINE OIL

4. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

The front and side supplemental restraint systems (SRS) include different types of air bags. Please verify the different types of air bags which are equipped on your vehicle by locating the “SRS AIRBAG” location indicators. These indicators are visible in the area where the air bags are installed.
The air bags are installed in the following locations:
The steering wheel hub (driver air bag) The front passenger dashboard (front passenger air bag) The outboard sides of the front seatbacks (side air bags) The front and rear window pillars, and the roof edge along both sides (curtain air bags)
